The process begins with the removal of waste from oceans and landfills around the world. Discarded fishing nets, in particular, pose a significant threat to marine life, and by removing them, we are not only preventing environmental harm but also giving these materials new life.

Regeneration and Purification

ECONYL® renews the collected waste. The nylon waste goes through a depolymerization process. This process breaks down the material to its raw state. Depolymerization helps to maintain the nylon's strength, making it an ideal candidate for sustainable swimwear production.

Sustainable Polymerization and Textile Production

The depolymerized nylon is then polymerized, which transforms it into a new polymer. This regenerated nylon is then made into textile yarn. This yarn has same high quality as regular nylon, but with a much lower environmental impact.
